VV Band

  • In 1987, VV debuted at the Kyiv Rock Club Festival, immediately taking the “Best of the Year” prize. “Song of the Year” became their “Crying of Yaroslavna.
  • The song “Dance” became an unofficial anthem of the band. This work crossed the borders of the republic and introduced the rest of the Soviet Union cities to promising debutants from Kyiv
  • record “Dances” is included in the list of “100 best albums of the Soviet year”
  • In 1990 “VV” toured European countries, where their Slavic exotics fell to taste.
  • In the 1990s, the group offered a contract for the production of several CDs. The recording of one of the French concerts in 1991 was released on the “Abo-or” disk, which became the first long-playing disc VV”.
  • In the same year (1991), two of the “VV” – Skrypka and Pipa – moved to Paris. “VV” became an international quartet, when the guitarist Philippe Moore and drummer Stefan Mouffliee joined the composition. . The French period lasted until 1996.
  • After returning Violin and Pipa to VV, Sergey Sakhno returns and a new guitarist Eugene Rogachevsky appears.
  • In 1997, a long-term contract was signed with Gala Records, which released the album “Music” with the new super-hits “Spring” and “Yura”.
  • For the super lightweight “Vesna”, issued in 1997, the VV group received three “Golden Firebirds” at the Tavria Games festival.
  • The album “Music” also visited in space. The first Ukrainian cosmonaut, Leonid Kadenyuk, took him to the near-Earth orbit in 1997. In 1998, the CD “Kraina Mriy”, a significant part of which comprised compositions of the early 90’s, came to light.
  • The next record “Waves of the Amur” was released in early 2000. Together with fresh hits “Love” and “Were on the Village” and a new song “Birthday”. The success of the song was greatly facilitated by a successful video clip with a plot in the spirit of Indian movies.
  • In the same year (2000), “Vopli Vidoplyasova” went on tours in Israel and the United States, and also addressed the American president, Bill Clinton, during his official visit to Ukraine.
  • VV became the first Ukrainian rock band to play along with the orchestra. The concert took place in May 2000. VV played in Kiev together with the orchestra of the Armed Forces of Ukraine consisting of 50 musicians.
  • In 2000, VV spoke to President Bill Clinton, who was on an official visit to Kyiv.
  • In 2001, the collection of the VV group was complemented by four other awards: VV was awarded as the best group, for the best album and best clip, as well as for the popularization of Ukrainian culture in Russia.
  • In 2006 the studio album “VV” under the name “Was Days” was published, devoted to the 20th anniversary of the band.
  • In January 2007, the group left Oleksandr Pipa. In the jubilee tour of the cities of Ukraine with the band sends a new bassist Alexei Melchenko.
  • In 2008, the group recorded a rock version of the State Anthem of Ukraine, and also released a double concert album, which reproduces the performance of the collective at the Rock Sich Festival. On the eve of the new 2009, there is a single with a new hit – the song “Lado”
  • In 2010, VV will receive 5 awards at the Yuna Award Ceremony.
  • 2016 “Vopli Vidoplyasova” carried out the “Front Tour of VV”, speaking to fighters at the front in Mariinka, Konstantinovka and Selidovo.
  • VV Group is senior for 5 years for Independent Ukraine. In 2016, VV celebrates its 30th birthday!
